It's been in all the papers lately..."First Baby Boomers Turn 60!" As if we all didn't know already. As a lifeling gardener entering into that magic age group I've noticed that a lot of what I used to do easily in the garden now requires more effort, longer breaks and more asprin to accomplish. Apparently manufacturers who supply the lawn and garden products we all use are begining to realize that the face of gardening is changing. Many have already marketed products designed to make it easier to do tasks while suffering with the many affectations of age.
In this site, I hope to be able to bring together more "Seasoned Gardeners" to share ideas and experiences to allow us to continue not only to garden but to share what we know with younger people who may be without the "Gardening Gene."
I welcome your comments and suggestions and I look forward to inviting you in to share what you know with everyone. My hope is that this blog becomes a kind of electronic backyard fence for friends and neighbors to share what they know and what they do to enjoy gardeining.
By the way, the gentleman in the photo above with the snappy push mower is my great grandfather from whom, among others I inherited my "Gardening Gene."
Please post often and share your experiences.
Happy Gardening!
